Soldier

Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)

Statues of soldiers were placed in tombs to protect the dead person. You can see from the soldier's hands that he once held a sword or other weapon, probably made from wood. This soldier spent about two thousand years guarding someone's tomb. His wooden weapons turned to dust long ago.
