Are you
looking for that perfect place to hold an elegant reception,
an important awards dinner,
a retirement party for a beloved colleague,
or any other event in which an impressive location is of paramount importance?
The Johnson Museum of Art is that place.
We have the beautiful Lynch Conference Room on the sixth floor for dinners with dazzling views... the outdoor Mallin Sculpture Court for summer parties with live music... and the glass-enclosed Appel Lobby that will make a memorable cocktail party...
Our striking spaces will transform any event into a very special occasion.
At the Top
Crowning this amazing building is the sixth floor conference room
with a commanding view of Cayuga Lake. The room is available for receptions, luncheons,
presentations, and dinners. The
sixth floor accommodates up to 80 guests for formal dinners and 150 for
informal receptions. The facility includes kitchen space and restrooms. It
measures 45 x 30 feet.
The
Lynch Conference Room is a gift from Susan E. Lynch in memory of Ronald P.
Lynch '58.
Open Air
During warmer months, the Mallin Sculpture Court is also available
for rental. This elegant terrace measures 63 x 29 feet, accommodating up to 150
people, and can be used for live musical performances or receptions. The
sculpture court overlooks Ithaca and Cayuga Lake, and is enhanced by a collection
of modern sculpture. Use of the sculpture court, of course, is dependent on
good weather.
Larger Events
The glass-walled Appel Lobby is
perfect for larger receptions. The two-story ceilings and glass walls create a
dramatic open effect that lends elegance to any event. The lobby can
accommodate 200 guests.
For an extra-special event, the entire Museum can be kept open after hours to
allow your guests to browse in the galleries. One thousand (1,000) guests is
the maximum attendance when the entire museum is rented. Food is
allowed only in the lobby and on the sixth floor. Private tours of the Museum’s
current exhibitions can be arranged for an additional fee.
Events may be scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 11:45
p.m. Tuesdays to Sundays. Evening events may be scheduled on Mondays. To
facilitate the closing of the Museum to the public at 5:00 p.m., the Museum
requests that evening events begin no earlier than 5:30 p.m. The Museum has audio/visual
and presentation equipment available for rental. Please see the FAQ and Guidelines pages for complete information.
