Visiting artist, composer, performer, and musicologist Luciano Chessa will give a lecture as part of the Department of Music’s Composers’ Forum.

On Saturday, October 20, the Orchestra of Futurist Noise Intoners, A Performa Commission, Curated and Conducted by Luciano Chessa will join CAGE (Cornell Avant Garde Ensemble) for a performance with experimental instruments, old and newly constructed, known as intonarumori.

After the lecture, attendees are invited to hear the premiere of Annie Lewandowski's new work for the Cornell Chimes at McGraw Tower, “Cetus: Life After Life” at 6:00PM. In “Cetus,” extracts of Hawaiian whale song sessions from 1977 and 1981 are broadcast through four speakers facing out from the top of McGraw Tower in duet with Sarah Hennies performing on the Cornell Chimes.

This Cornell Council for the Arts Biennial event is held in conjunction with the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning’s Sound, Space, Place program series.
