At the Top

Crowning this amazing building is the sixth-floor Lynch Conference Room with a commanding view of Cayuga Lake. The room (45 x 30 feet) is available for receptions, luncheons, presentations, and dinners.

Open Air

During warmer months, the Mallin Sculpture Court is also available for rental. Beneath the light installation Cosmos, the sculpture court (63 x 29 feet) overlooks Ithaca and Cayuga Lake. Use of the sculpture court is weather-dependent.

Larger Events

The glass-walled Appel Lobby is perfect for larger receptions. The two-story ceilings and glass walls create a dramatic open effect that lends elegance to any event.

In the Wing

The Hirsch Lecture Lobby (810 square feet) has glass doors overlooking the Morgan Japanese Garden. The lecture room (1,535 sq. ft.) can also be rented for a variety of special events and meetings. These spaces are connected to Floor 2L in the main building.

Rental guidelines

The Johnson Museum is available for rental by Cornell University Departments/Affiliated Groups, business organizations, and private groups. Please consult us regarding capacity guidelines for all of our spaces.

Cornell Catering is the exclusive caterer of the Johnson Museum of Art. Explore their website for more information about their services.

Because the Museum is a high-security facility, certain restrictions may apply when planning special events. Please specify whether your proposed event request is university related or a private function at the time of reserving your space. Museum space rental charges and fees are available upon request.

The Museum has audio/visual and presentation equipment available.
