Courtier and Court Lady

Western Han dynasty (206 BC - 9 AD)

These tomb figures of a man and a woman were made from clay and fired in a kiln. Notice that most of their details, like the hair, facial features, and the folds of their clothing were painted on, and not sculpted into the clay.
